This week, we got to video chat with Sis. Hamner on Thanksgiving Day during our Hamner Family gathering. She got to say hello to our family, as well as her aunts, uncles, and cousins that were in Indiana at the time. That was a real treat for everyone!
There is an American family in the PJ Branch who invited Rachel and her companion, as well as other people in the Branch, over for a traditional American Thanksgiving meal. Rachel and Sis. Dolenar LOVED it; the locals were a little hesitant with putting gravy over all of their food...mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, etc. Rachel's favorite part of the meal was the pumpkin pie, which she didn't think she'd get to eat this year. She was super excited!
We got to video chat with Rachel again this evening...she wanted to tell us about transfers. She is now finished training (she hits her 3 month mark in Malaysia on Dec. 3), so her companion, Sis. Dolenar, is being transferred to Sibu (in Eastern Malaysia). Ironically, Sis. Dolenar will now be companions with Sis. Gordhammer, Rachel's companion in the MTC! Rachel is staying in PJ and training a new sister missionary. (She didn't want me to tell about that, but I'm so excited for her.) She is nervous and excited all at once. Next week, we'll get to hear about her new companion. Stay tuned!

this works! Ha Ha!

Burnt muffins = an unexpected meeting with someone
who needed a listening ear later that evening.

Helping make dinner and enjoying it together is so much fun!

I have NO idea what this is or how she liked it.
