Remember Jesus Christ the whole year round!

Christmas is over, but don't feel sad.  Remember Jesus Christ the whole year round!
Dec. 30, 2019

It's December 30th. You're sitting on your couch, still dressed in the Christmas pj's you've been wearing for 5+ days. There aren't any leftovers from Christmas dinner in that fridge because you've been using those to make turkey sandwiches for every meal since (but don't worry, you have a plethora of stocking candy still hanging around, so that'll cover dinner tonight). A single tear drips from your eye as you hear the radio disc jockey announce that normal music will come back on the radio January 1st. the snow is melting, the tinsel doesn't twinkle, school's gonna start soon, and you feel like just about as lively as the cold slush piled up in your driveway....

...But it doesn't have to be that way!! Sure, post-Christmas sadness may kick in for a bit, but Jesus Christ said, "Behold, I am the light and life of the world." (3 Nephi 11:11). This is a light that NEVER goes out. It doesn't waste away, loose battery, or get taken down and tucked in the attic. A member of our wonderful PJ Branch mentioned in church yesterday that the goals you make this year don't need to be dramatic or life-changing. It could be a simple, daily desire to become a little better than you were yesterday, a little more like Christ. As you think about the goals you are making for this year, don't feel too sad that Christmas is over or feel overwhelmed that you need to do something crazy this year. Remember that Heavenly Father will help you change and become a little better every day, and you can look back next year and see how much He has helped you grow. He loves you!

I hope you all had a grrrrrreat Christmas and have a happy new year, sayang kamu semua (love you all)!

Love,
Sister Hamner
